The Heart Behind the Sisters in Faith Community

February 8th, 2013 by sistersi

We know as you browse this website for the first time, you must be asking yourself, “who and what are these ‘Sisters in Faith’?” The Sisters in Faith are both the audience and the authors of the Sisters in Faith brand. We are African-American women who seek God daily in our lives.

We, your co-founders, believe that there is a void of Christian material available that speaks directly to the needs and concerns of African-American women. Our goal with developing this brand and community is to create meaningful products, music, videos, seminars, online outlets, and conference opportunities that will lead African-American women to Jesus Christ and will encourage them in areas of life that are uniquely challenging to them.

When our precious Lord said in Mark 16:15 that we were to go into “all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature”, He knew that we did not all speak alike, or act alike, communicate in the same way, or have the same experiences. God has made each of us “fearfully and wonderfully” different and intended for us to celebrate those differences, marveling at who God made us to be.

African-American women have long-suffered and long loved the Lord in such a way that being Christian and being an African-American woman is synonymous. But very little Christian product reveals the African-American woman’s voice to the body of Christ and almost none has been created to speak directly to her in a way that relates to her life and her struggles.

It is for this reason that we have created the Sisters in Faith brand, to not only encourage and empower African-American women, but also to demonstrate to them that Christ went to the cross for them, just as He did for each of his beloved.

This will be a journey for all of us to awaken a new and dynamic spirit. Thank you for joining us and walking with us as we follow what we believe God has called us to do.

With Blessings and Honor,

Michele Clark Jenkins & Stephanie Perry Moore

I have started a new walk with the Lord. One that is based on surrendering all to God. It would be an honor if you allow me to include ‘The Women of Faith” in this walk .

Today I got the chance to hear both of you ladies here in South Bend, IN. with the Rev. Sylvester Williams on WUBS radio. And just wanted to say that I enjoyed the broadcast very much. And that I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of your book designed with African American women in mind. Was very please to hear that it is a book of up lifting and encouragement for all areas of our lives. Thank you ladies and may you continue to be blessed.
